To complete GX you need to Copy the files (boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml) from the download of the all in one package in the Apps/usb loader to the same place on your SD card Next you can clean up your sd card by runnning the file clean up from modmii and then replace any files you had on your sd card prior to modmii back on it in the same place as before.
Install everything from modmii (inc GX you added)by following the guide (it puts a copy on your SD card if you have lost it Once extracted you will see a WAD folder and in this there is a usbloader_gx-UNEO_Forwader.WAD, copy this to the WAD folder created by modmii as you want to install this at the same time. Next google modmii, this runs on a pc and will update the wii for you (latest cios's stop a lot of issues)once installed select w run the wizard as if the wii was unmodded,this will also download cfg loader for you, ( if you have an SD card in your pc at the time you can direct modmii to put everything on it for you) follow the generated guide (you already have the homebrew channel so after this point) But don't do it yet, you need to add another file to the WAD folder modmii has createdįox GX go to the de page listed above and in downloads, download the all in one 249 package. I would also copy everything on your SD card to your PC just in case. If you have the channel then you need to install the forwarder.wad, ask again if you need to do this as it is a bit more in depth then just swapping a file on the sd or hard driveįirst you need to delete the channel or channels start the wii and go to data management / channels and delete the gx loader and cfg channel. If you have the forwarder just delete the boot.dol on the sd or hdd and replace it with the new boot.dol. With a forwarder, this WAD just tells the Wii to look for the program on the SD card or the Hard Drive (on either the SD or HDD you will have an apps folder with a usb_loader folder inside it and in this folder will be a file called boot.dol - this is the actual program)Īll the latest updates for GX are for the forwarder only, not for the full channel, for the latest boot.dol (rev 1209) you need to google "usb loader gx de" go to the issues tab then 1769, this is the beta thread and the latest boot.dol will be towards the bottom of the page. If you use the full channel then GX loader will still work if there is no SD card in the front of the Wii - otherwise it will lock up at the GX logo It depends on the wad you installed, there is a forwarder wad and a full channel wad.
